Hong Kong means "fragrant harbour" and is the fourth-most densely populated region in the world, with over 7.4 million Hongkongers of various nationalities. This was my third visit to the Pearl of the Orient. You have to experience the power of the city to understand why it's attraction is so massive to me. It's like falling in love over and over again. The only difference is: she won't get tired of you.
The diversity in scenery and landscape is enormous. Hong Kong changes every 5 minutes. You can be in a park on the Island, wander in the middle of a concrete jungle surrounded by millions of people or take a massive hike in the mountains. When I say massive, believe me, that's still underrated. And this all within a span of 30 minutes.

Day 1

I arrived in the afternoon after an 18-hour 2 stops flight with Emirates. I've been flying with them for years now and I have to say they're my favourite for many reasons. After I dropped my bag at the hostel I headed to the first location on my list. The Connaught Road Central bridge, a bridge that runs over one of the busiest streets in Central. With traffic divided over 8 lanes, it's a sight for sore eyes. I was just in time to witness blue hour and shoot the multiple exposures I needed to blend my images the way I wanted them to be.

PRO-JEKT #5

July was all about exploring. So this will be 2-piece blog with the next one following. This was my impression of Chicago: The Windy City. Apparently not only called that way for Chicago's windy location near lake Michigan but also for their blabbering mouths back in the days.

The city of Chicago is the third-most populous city in the United Stated with over 2.7 million residents. The first know reference to the site of the current city of Chicago was "Checagou" which literally means "stinky onion". Fun fact it is :-)

Chicago is a sight for sore eyes when it comes to architecture. The destruction caused by the Great Chicago Fire led to the largest building boom in the history of the nation.  In 1885, the first steel-framed high-rise building, the Home Insurance Building, rose in the city as Chicago ushered in the skyscraper era, which would then be followed by many other cities around the world. Today, Chicago's skyline is among the world's tallest and most dense. One of the most popular towers located in Chicago has to be the Willis Tower (formerly Sears Tower).

So let me know what you think about the view and the buildings Chicago has to offer!

PRO-JEKT #4

Had some fun with Griet this week! We've been working together for a few years now and we're getting more satisfied with the results after every shoot. We're both newbies so these kind of collaborations are very learnfull for the both of us. And they're starting to pay off. Creativity is a difficult process which requires a lot of patience and practice. But we're in the right direction.

May consisted of a few project I did in my little time off of cycling preparations for this year. So I hope I'll be able to create some more after June and the summer period. For now, I hope you'll enjoy these snaps at Bokrijk. A place called 'Fietsen door het water'. They made a concrete wall in the middle of a small lake so you're able to ride you're bike through the water which is an awesome sight. Be sure to check it out!

PRO-JEKT #3

Better late than never... I have been having creative struggles lately and never seem to find the right time. School and work takes up most of the time. Hope to get out of the slump and invest some more time in taking pictures and doing what I love.

So, I took a weekend off from the daily habbits and visited one of my best friends who has been living in Amsterdam for the past year. Gratefull for the hospitality and the nice bed at Casa Nicky. In between chilling and going out - had way too little sleep! but hey, had fun (hashtag getting old!) - I took some pictures over at Steigereiland.

Off course there's no visiting Amsterdam for me without visiting the spotters platform at Schiphol Airport. Finding calmness in a noisy, windy and cold environment. It always gets me in some kind of way. It recharges the batteries. And get you back in that wanderlust mode!

Hope you enjoy this series!

PRO-JEKT #2

As promised the February project. Experimenting with the new Pixapro Hybrid360 portable flash was fun! But not easy. The stormy weather didn't allow us to shoot much more than one location with the flash. So we had to keep it to a minimum.
The 2nd location was shot with the natural and ambient light we had at hand with even more gusting wind. I need to remind myself to get an assistant next time to hold my gear. Haha.

A big thanks goes out to Griet who helped me out on numerous occasion over the past year. She's a patient model, go check out her blog : A Beauty To Rock

I'll try to have another project up at the end of March. Let me know what you think of these 2 so far. Thanks!
